My husband has been begging me to make ribs over the last few weeks. Unfortunately our grill is not set up and it’s been raining off and on. So I decided to attempt making ribs in the crock-pot and crisping them on the outside with the broiler. They turned out to be DELICIOUS, if I do say so myself. The meat was perfect, falling off the bone, plus the kick from the spices I used and the sweetness of the BBQ sauce gave it the Wowzzzah factor.
Ingredients for the Dry Rub:
- 2 Tablespoons of Cowboy Crust Spiceologist Brand (http://spiceologist.com/products/cowboy-crust)
- 1 Tablespoon Paprika
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp of onion powder
- 2 tsp garlic powder ( DO NOT USE GARLIC SALT)
The rest of the Ingredients:
- 1 Cup of any Generic Brand of Plain BBQ Sauce
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 Tablespoon Honey
- 1 Teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 Rack of pork ribs
- Cooking Spray
Directions:
- Cut rack of ribs in half.
- Mix all ingredients for the dry rub together and season the ribs on both sides.
- Place ribs meat side up in your crock-pot. Cook on low 7-8 hours.
- Remove ribs from crock pot and place on greased baking sheet.
- Mix the BBQ sauce, pepper, honey and Worcestershire sauce together in a small bowl and gently brush on top of the ribs.
- Set oven on broil (High) and place ribs under the broiler for 3-5 minutes, just to crisp the outside.
Remove from oven, slice on cutting board, serve!
Enjoy!
This WILL be happening in the near future!!! Yummy 🙂
